3967 explores the forgotten lives of migrant workers from China’s 1960s industrial campaign. Through 30 books and a projected scroll of camel trains, it commemorates their personal dignity and silent sacrifices. The work invites reflection on the tension between individual worth and collective interests in modern Chinese society.

Quercueprobe

Due to rapid urbanisation and insufficient green space, many city residents experience a growing disconnection from nature. With only 14 square metres of green area per person in China—far below WHO’s 40-square-metre guideline—weekend suburban escapes become a privilege. This work explores how urban environments can better support human-nature interaction and reduce nature-related anxiety for those unable to leave the city.

Wordless Tablet

Wordless Tablet critiques China’s over-reliance on documentation in everyday life. With over 70 required documents, individuals are bound by bureaucratic systems demanding constant proof of identity and compliance. The project reflects how political trust has shifted into rigid regulation, turning documents into tools of control. Through these paper artefacts, the work reveals the silent weight of governance on personal existence.

Exercise Book

Exercise Book explores the creative constraints formed by habitual photographic thinking. Rooted in a background of photography training, the project reflects on how mechanical image-making can limit imagination. By experimenting with abstraction through drawing, 3D modelling, and digital scanning, it aims to reconstruct perception and reframe visual experience—turning the “exercise” into a process of unlearning and rethinking.

 Rivers Unbounded

Rivers Unbounded examines the disrupted relationship between people and the Yangtze River under the pressures of urbanization and flood control. Triggered by the 2020 Chongqing flood, the project uses photography to document ecological detachment and social alienation. It encourages critical reflection on how infrastructural expansion reshapes both environment and identity, calling for a renewed balance between urban development and natural systems.

Southern North...

Southern North focuses on the southern mountainous regions of Northwest China, where striking natural landscapes coexist with a significant number of man-made structures. Drawing on the theory of New Topographics, the project explores the tension and collision between natural environments and human interventions in this area. The work is currently in progress and remains in the photographic production stage.

Heartfelt Diaries

This project highlights humanity’s emotional reliance on AI, revealing how commercial interests step in and intensify that dependency. Through progressively disruptive visuals and curated dialogues, it invites viewers to reflect on whether we’re unwittingly guided by monetised strategies when AI becomes our companion.
